About Me
Hi! I'm Sam Reinstein, a previous actuary, ordained rabbi and now financial planner. My eclectic resume includes working as an actuary at Prudential Financial and then at Munch Reinsurance; leading a small congregation in Brooklyn for six years; and, today, managing the finances for an educational start-up, Aleph Beta.

Over the past decade, I've learned what many of us know to be true but don't often internalize until we're faced with it: most people's problems are connected to money. From marital satisfaction to stress reduction to career fulfillment, someone's most intimate goals and dreams are usually intertwined with their financial prognosis.

When I stopped practicing as a pulpit rabbi, I realized I wanted to merge my passion for teaching and guidance with my financial expertise. What more meaningful way to guide people towards their larger life goals, I realized, than helping them on their paths towards financial autonomy?

When my wife and I got married and embarked on our first jobs, I was able to point us towards the path of financial independence using some math smarts and hundreds of hours of research. That choice, in no uncertain terms, has changed and shaped our lives.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and my wife and I found out we were expecting twins, I was able to re-arrange my career priorities so that I could be a stay-at-home father for two years. When my wife unexpectedly lost her job, the financial infrastructure we had put in place allowed us to keep pushing towards our personal and professional goals. At that point, I decided to trade in my corporate badge as an actuary to follow my career dream: launching a company that makes this reality accessible to others.

From my own experience, I've learned that anyone is capable of building a strong financial future - you just need to put in the time. Lamed (Lah- Med) in Hebrew means "to teach" and "to learn." Working with you towards your financial goals, I hope we can accomplish both together.
